Codec Test Engineer
Edinburgh Based
Up to £35,000 + benefits
My client is a highly successful provider of security solutions, serving markets world-wide with their enterprise-class systems.
The Codec Test Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the integration and system testing of development solutions. The role will involve testing core IP technology before system integration, working closely with hardware and software developers. The Test Engineer will have ownership of test processes, planning, test specifications and defect tracking. The position will also involve the design and development of automated test harnesses and test systems.
Individuals with the following skills would be well suited to the position:
·Degree qualified or equivalent in a Software Engineering or Computer Science related degree
·ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
·Thorough and systematic approach to testing of core IP technology
·Production of clear and accurate test reports
·C/Bash/TCL scripting
An understanding of MPEG-4 and H.264 video compression would be desirable, as would knowledge of digital video, HD and image analysis.
