Walter Energy Western Coal is one of the largest metallurgical mining organisations in the world, with operations in Canada, America and the UK. Over the next 2 years, we plan to more than triple coal production through organic growth alone, and we are looking for skilled, motivated people to join the organisation at this exciting time.
We operate in the UK which is an underground drift mine in Glynneath, within the heart of South Wales. At our colliery we are currently expanding our operations to access a new area of reserves which will extend the life of the mine for the foreseeable future, utilising highly mechanised state-of-the-art systems.

Contract:Full Time
Location: Glynneath, South Wales
Salary:£38,500 (inc shift allowance)
Duties and responsibilities:Carry out statutory inspections at a large coal mine, supervising operations to a high standard of safety at highly mechanised working areas. Responsible for carrying out all statutory duties as outlined under the MASHAM regulations.
Skills & Experience:The successful candidate must have a Deputy’s qualification with previous experience in the role as a mine official.
