Commercial Advisor - Warwickshire or Nottinghamshire

Exciting and unique Commercial Advisor opportunity based either in Warwickshire or Nottinghamshire at leading blue chip Plc.

Due to its continued success, an opportunity has arisen at one of the UK's leading Plc's for a Commercial Advisor to support the ongoing commercial activity of the business. The successful candidate will be based in either Warwickshire or Nottinghamshire and provide legal and commercial support to the Business Development team and other business streams within one of the group's specialist divisions, reviewing new and existing contracts to ensure that all risks are identified, quantified and managed and the company interests are protected.

 Reporting into the Finance Director and supporting several other high profile senior stakeholders, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, manage and develop designated projects, responses to project legal and commercial issues, from bid to financial close, including contract interpretation and negotiation, to identify and quantify legal, commercial and management risks and to develop mitigation measures.
  • Provide legal support to existing contracts to ensure that contracts meet company legal and commercial requirements.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure the development of legally & commercially viable bids.
  • Support managers and employees to develop their understanding of legal & commercial issues to ensure that contractual requirements are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintain an updated library of all contracts and specimen legal documents ensuring accurate current information and advice is provided.

Our client is looking for an individual with a finance, legal or commercial background involving detailed contract interpretation who has worked within a multi-disciplined project team in a business development environment. Experience of the PPP/PFI sectors would be a advantageous.

This is a commercial role in its purest form and will suit an individual from a finance or legal background who has since developed their career in a commercial capacity. The successful applicant will be a strong communicator, an influencer and possess proven contract negotiation and bids experience. A form of professional qualification is highly desirable, as is the ability to multi task and remain well organised in a challenging and fast paced environment.
