Within British Gas (our downstream UK business) we are currently recruiting a Commercial Finance Manager for our Supply Chain and Fleet operations. Commercial Finance Manager - Supply Chain (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) - The Overview:

  • Salary up to £55,000. Package to circa £75,000.
  • Location - Leicester - LE67 1UB (one mile from the M1).
  • Platform to deliver real business finance to British Gas.
  • Integral to the future growth and profitability of this business unit.
The Commercial Finance Manager is a key role within the Home Services Business Finance Team supporting the Logistics and Supply Chain management team during a period of business growth. The role is to provide commercially astute financial support to develop understanding of where, how and why value is created within the Home Services business based within the National Distribution Centre in Leicester supporting the Supply Chain, Fleet and Engineering Academy key business support functions.


Commercial Finance Manager - Supply Chain (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) - The Vacancy:
  • Work with the Logistics and Supply Chain management teams to develop their understanding of the value drivers of the business, which driver they can influence and how to allocate resource (cash, manpower and time) to maximum effect
  • Assist in the preparation of short and long term planning activities to provide challenging realistic business targets and through active liaison with the management team gain full commitment to delivery.
  • Develop a fact base to produce insight to develop strategic and operational plans.
  • Prepare information and performance commentaries to support the monthly and quarterly performance reviews and internal management meetings.
  • Develop the National forecasting model engaging operational management in developing sustainable business plans and preparing monthly outturns forecasts.
  • Contribute to the development of the profit improvement plan to ensure that all business risks are mitigated and opportunities are realised.
  • Provide input into ad-hoc projects including new propositions and major investment decisions.



Commercial Finance Manager - Supply Chain (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) - The Person:The successful candidate will possess all of the following skills.
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA, ACCA or CPA) with proven track record of post qualification financial management experience within a large complex company.
  • Exceptional understanding and experience of business finance; strong financial modelling skills and proven ability to interpret and translate highly complex data for real business decisions.
  • Proven experience of working in a supply chain, manufacturing, logistics or distribution environment (Ideally multi-national).
  • Demonstrated track record of influencing business leaders across a multi-site business; possess excellent communication skills; have leadership experience of project and change management.
  • Proven system literacy, preferable with SAP and SAP BW experience as well as advanced excel skills (business modelling).
