An exceptional Sales Director to work in a highly successful 170 staff / £40m education products business that is experiencing exponential growth as a wholly owned subsidiary of a market-leading PLC.
Based in Nottinghamshire, TTS provides a vast array of products to UK and international schools via mail order/web, direct sales, export and high profile contracts such as the Tesco Sports voucher scheme. Since acquisition by RM Group 5 years ago, TTS has grown rapidly from £10m to £40m. The target is to now reach £80m by 2012 and ultimately become the world’s largest school equipment supplier.
With a seat on the TTS board, this brand new ‘player-manager’ position has been created to further enhance the current annual 50% business growth in existing new business direct sales areas such as ‘Early Years’, local government and UK/International trade & export, as well as develop new areas of revenue. The jobholder will drive forward strategic plans, effectively lead the direct sales team (8 staff and growing quickly), be responsible for £10m revenue and contribute to the broader commercial and strategic planning as a key member of the board.
This represents a truly unique chance for a senior individual to take on a challenging and highly visible role in a dynamic company at a time of very exciting change and growth. The ability to contribute to business success will also demonstrate the potential for further senior level career progression across RM Group.
The Individual
- Of graduate calibre, a senior level sales leader with experience of b2b sales within a fast paced product environment, i.e. mail order / fmcg etc
- Solid background in sales leadership (must have operated at Sales Director level with teams of at least 15 staff+), an exceptional track record of delivering business growth and a willingness to lead from the front line
- Results oriented with considerable drive, energy and entrepreneurial spirit. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a down to earth, collaborative style
- Previous experience of selling into education / public sector is highly desirable, but not strictly essential. However a genuine enthusiasm to work within the sector is mandatory
- Whilst majority of time will be based at the TTS office, must be flexible to operate across the UK and potentially further afield as required
