Composite Production Engineer
Our client has a world-class reputation for the design and manufacture of composite structures and components for the aerospace, defence and communications markets. In order to successfully meet their customer's expectations and anticipated growth, they now have a requirement for a Composite Production Engineer.
The ideal person should possess a first degree or similar in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience in the composites industry.
The responsibilities of the job are diverse, and include contributing to new product design in respect to material, process and tooling definition, detailed tool design, manufacturing process proving and compilation of product manufacturing method documentation, and instruction of technicians in manufacturing new products. Also, the engineer will be required to assist his/her assigned production module with the resolution of day-to-day manufacturing problems and monitor and correct recurring non-conformances.
The skills and experience necessary to fulfil this role are:
In-depth knowledge of a range of composite materials
In-depth knowledge of a range of composite manufacturing processes
In-depth knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Lean principles
CAD and CNC programming knowledge preferred
Good team-working ethos
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
