The Company
Our client is a leading construction company operating across the South West and South Wales and nationally for strategic customers. They are specialist constructors in Retail, Distribution, Education, Local General Contracting and Social Housing employing in the region of 400 staff.
The Role
Based from their head office in Bristol they require a Construction Planner to work on tender opportunities, presentation of contractor's proposals to clients, logistics planning, tender planning and construction planning.
Keys Roles & Responsibilities:
* Provide tender / pre-development stage planning, agreeing with the Project Manager the scope of the service
* At project award, reward the tender / pre-development stage programmes and developing the contract and construction stage programme(s), issuing it to the relevant parties
* Agreeing the scope of the construction stage planning service with the Project Manager
* Establishment and maintenance of planning, programme, phasing and reporting standards to suit the needs of the project
* Supporting the project planning, liaising with the project team and subcontractors to discuss, understand and advise upon the key planning / programme issues
* Provision of support and overview of project teams short term/trade programmes. Advise on implications/opportunities against the project construction programmes
* Reviewing of project progress against programme and prepare planning progress reports for internal and external purposes when required
* Review and monitoring project instructions and variations as they occur. Advising on any anticipated impact they may have on the project programme or completion date.
The Person
The successful Planner must have carried out a similar planning based role in a construction main contractor environment preferably on traditional new-build construction related projects.
