Construction & Piling Contracts Manager Job Summary:
An
experienced Contracts Manager is required to take responsibility for estimating,
QA, project progress & engineering issues with a very highly regarded piling
subcontractor with a regional office in Wiltshire, South West England. This
senior role would give the successful job applicant the responsibility for the
operations, performance and development of this specialist piling &
groundwork conractor's Mini Piling business in the South West.
Piling Contracts Manager Reports To: Associate Director
Contracts Manager (Engineering & Piling) Construction Job
Duties:
1 Develop and maintain a safety conscious culture at the SBU at
all levels, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and pro-actively
managing safety related issues.
2 Develop the business in an active manner
through effective marketing and relationship building, identifying new market
opportunities.
3 Undertake and manage design and tender activity within the
team, ensuring that estimates are delivered in such a manner that maximises the
potential to obtain the order. Ensure design and tender documents produced from
within the team are checked in accordance with QA procedure.
4 Ensure that
all orders are acknowledged promptly.
5 Ensure profit growth through
effective tendering and management of the work in the South West Area.

Participate in the preparation of, monitor and achieve/exceed propose budget for
the South West Underpinning and Mini Piling office. Supervise production of key
financial data, ensuring that this is fed into the centre within set timescales.
Ensure debt collection is managed effectively.
7 Ensure good liaison between
disciplines and departments. Ensure that adequate information is submitted to
direct line manager in order that good commercial decisions are made.

Maintain reporting and measurement systems, utilising information in a
pro-active manner to plan and report. Ensure accurate records are maintained in
respect of forward orders.
9 Preparation of CVR’s and submission of CVR’s
within approved timescales.
10 Where required attend sales/pre
contract/client meetings.
11 Where required assist the Underpinning and Mini
Piling team in day to day activities, particularly in respect of engineering
design problems.
12 Ensure personal appraisals are completed on time and that
the development and training activity is taken forward in line with the needs of
the business.
13 Ensure compliance with all safety and statutory obligations,
including all QA activity.
14 Maintain and improve the professional and
progressive image of the company.
Piling Contract Management Experience Required:
