Lafarge are one of the UK’s largest suppliers of construction materials and have an established contracting business operating across a range of sectors. The business has been operating for over 150 years and has a presence in over 75 countries. Lafarge National Contracting is able to offer pavement and civil engineering solutions to five major market sectors: Highways; Local Authorities; Airports; Defence and Private Sector Clients.
Lafarge as a global concern currently employ in excess of 80,000 people and are looking to recruit further in the UK to enable them to deliver the significant workload they have secured for 2010 and beyond.
In particular, they are looking to add to the senior management team for the East Anglia division with the addition of a Contracts Manager to take a lead role on a number of local authority frameworks and private sector commissions. The person appointed to the role will have significant experience of major surfacing schemes (with average schemes being in the region of £5-6M) and will ideally have experience of more generalist civil engineering schemes. They will play a role in the work winning process and will act as a first point of contact for client liaison.
The person appointed to this role will report directly to the Construction Manager for the region and will take on full P&L responsibility for schemes under their control.
