Commercial Officer / Contracts Officer – Aerospace / Avionics / Defence - £33-35,000 + bonus potential + benefits - Berkshire
The Senior Contracts Officer / Senior Commercial Officer will be working within a team, responsible for commercial contracts and subcontracts, liaising with the MOD and OEMs. Key activities will include:
- Responding to customer RFQs;
- Preparation of proposals/quotations
- Risk analysis
- Contract drafting and negotiations, including subcontracts arising from customer contracts
- Develop and maintain customer relationships, identifying future market needs and potential business opportunities
- Attend client meetings and business forums
- Work with programme manager and pricing analyst with regard to costings and scheduling
- Manage export compliance, ensuring UK and Foreign government regulations are adhered to
- Identify and lead lean processes
The position requires an experienced Contracts / Commercial Officer with an in-depth knowledge of commercial Terms & Conditions, a proactive approach and the ability to prioritise, work on own initiative and achieve tight timescales.
The Senior Contracts Officer / Commercial Officer should have experience of managing high value contracts, non-disclosure agreements, subcontracts, contract drafting and contract negotiations; ideally with a knowledge of Export Compliance regulations . Previous experience of working within a commercial aerospace/defence environment advantageous.
The Senior Commercial / Contracts Officer should be qualified to HNC/HND/Degree level, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be willing to travel as as this role will be customer facing.
