Job Purpose:
Our client is currently looking for a Corporate Audit Manager responsible for reporting to the Board in relation to adherence of internal systems and controls, procedures and policies. The purpose of the role is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the operations of the Society and its subsidiaries. It helps the Society and its subsidiaries accomplish their objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will provide an independent view of the Society's risks, procedures and controls and manage the Corporate Audit function.
Strong experience in a financial services environment, preferably accountancy or auditing.
Good knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly of the insurance industry.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, motivation and management skills.
Ability to communicate at Board level as well as departmental levels.
Ability to challenge accepted ways of doing things in a constructive manner.
Ability to challenge assessments of risks made by other members of management in a professional manner.
Proven ability to understand regulations and see how they apply in a practical way to the business.
Proven ability to review systems of control.
Relevant qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant, Certified Accountant, Institute of Internal Auditors).
Good decision making skills.
