Kier are looking for a committed, innovative and motivated individual with Cost Planning and/or Quantity Surveying / Estimating experience with a strong knowledge of construction methodology.This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with building industry experience and a commercial bias who can demonstrate a sound practical approach. Cost Planner is key to the successful management of potential education construction projects, the scope of the role will focus on developing cost plans, negotiation with consultants, suppliers and subcontractors ensuring bid budgets are robustly formulated and achieved, facilitating value engineering workshops and informing design teams of bid budgets. Working under the direct control of a framework commercial manager with specific cost planning expertise you will make a real contribution to the success of the group and profitability right from the start.

Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of the role are: High level cost planning support in assessing affordability Review/Update the cost library Cost planning advise in support of reference scheme development Collect, review and prepare whole life cost data Design and continuous improvement group - participate in the above to improve our approach to costing and commercial processes. Assist in establishing framework agreements with key supply chain partners - In conjunction with the group buyer establish framework agreements for key commodities generating economies of scale and improved quality Negotiate Consultants Fees Develop future framework initiatives - Potential to carry out a similar role for Health, Airports, Prisons as frameworks develop

The Individual
