Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role will involve the identification, analysis and synthesis of information to develop insights that will drive strategic decision making and define priorities for a digital business.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and manage project-driven and continuous data sources to develop customer insights that will facilitate business decision making requirements.
- Generate leading edge understanding on key industry topics through the development and integration of insights across the business and from external information sources.
- Lead projects including market size and customer segmentation process; customer satisfaction and experience; digital user insights and brand positioning and tracking.
- Manage cross media research projects and liaise with the sales team to define research priorities to advance business goals and build market strategies. Create business cases backed up by sound analysis and insight.
- Produce actionable business recommendations from all insight activities that will help influence strategy and commercial decisions and ensure the organisation is customer focussed at all times. Recommendations should support marketing communications strategy and product development.
- Manage various external agencies, panels and other stakeholder groups using a variety of media and formats.
- Develop a complete view of the markets in which Emerald operates, including competitor strategy.
Attributes:
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and will have strong analytical skills, demonstrable problem solving abilities and a deep understanding of both qualitative and quantitative, ad-hoc and continuous research techniques. They will be numerically literate and have strong interpersonal & influencing skills. At least 2 year’s experience of working in an insight or research role is essential. Experience of designing online research and/or have worked in an online company is desirable.
Good project management and prioritization skills are essential, as is the ability to turn insights into actionable business priorities. This role will be at the heart of strategic decision making within the organisation and therefore needs someone who will challenge existing thinking and make recommendations / decisions based on high quality, well interpreted data.
