BACKGROUND
One of the world’s premiere providers of financial market intelligence andinvestment research and data is seeking a Data Analyst/Data Manager with a credible record in strategy and operations of Fixed Income Data.The role will have responsibility for promoting the use of Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) data for internal and commercial applications by leveraging the company’s enterprise data management platform. This position will ensure that internal Analysts and external Consumers have access to timely market information that is tightly integrated with other enterprise data assets.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
> Compile the global alternatives of potential data sources and integrate them into a framework for utilization in the ratings process and the commercialization of data
> Contribute to and shape the strategic use of RMBS data content within DSO
> Evaluate product offerings from data sources and produce detailed documentation to support data purchase and integration recommendations
> Provide requirements based on source documentation for data feed implementations and work with vendors to resolve both technical and data issues
> Manipulate large data sets to answer requirements questions, investigate data quality problems, and establish relationships between related instruments and organizations
> Help define the data requirements for external data products by understanding the goals of the business and how users will interact with the application and data.
> Forecast data strategy needs of business by utilizing expertise and knowledge in the marketplace on data-driven products
> Provide project management and data strategy expertise for projects in the Fixed Income Risk Management Services (FIRMS) organization> Provide recommendations and support implementation on technical and/or procedural workflow on data production.
Leverage different data points and resource elements across FIRMS to streamline the processes and procedures and to enhance efficiencies of the Company’s various products
> Present data strategy recommendations on the technical and procedural processes to the Managing Director of the Data CoE
> Work closely with technical and development teams to ensure appropriate implementation of data requirements
> Contribute to overall Data Strategy & Operations responsibilities
> Determine causes and recommend and implement solutions for data quality and data integrity issues
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
# Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Programming, or Technology (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience required.
# Experience with Fixed Income Data
# Intermediate data management experience
# Intermediate knowledge of Reference Data for Debt Instruments including Structured Finance
# Advanced group facilitation skills
# Ability to work well within the context of a team
# Good SQL skills
# Advanced MS Excel
# Understanding of database modeling/design/applications
# Some project management skills are required
# Breadth of international experience, including examining and integrating data across multiple markets
