Digital/BaseBand Hardware Architect for a 6 month contract based in Romsey, Hampshire. This contract requires SC clearance so you must already hold SC clearance.

Main responsibilities are to generate clear and detailed specification documents to allow 3rd parties to design a system to interface to an existing digital baseband system. You will manage system design for complex, high density digital circuit designs incorporating CPU, DSP, FPGA and RF Subsystems factoring in EMI/EMC. You will work with software engineers to define, evaluate and optimise options for peripheral interfacing to OMAP and FPGA systems; Define test plans to evaluate the performance of new system designs. Team and technically lead a small team of Digital Design Engineers. Define and optimise the underlying power supply and general power management architectures.

It is essential that you have technical skills in the following areas:

• Baseband digital systems for portable applications.

• Applications processors with integrated peripheral interfaces. Serial digital interface formats for data and digital audio transfer.

• Power supply distribution, power management, and low power design.

• Designing digital interfaces for low EMI impact.

• Audio CODECs

• PCB design (reviewing) for digital, audio, and power systems. FPGA (hardware) integration with digital systems
