>> You have knowledge and experience of working with children with special needs, including meeting their personal care needs. As well as having good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills you have the ability to form working relationships with children and their carers. The ability to travel within Aberdeenshire is essential.
>> You are required to provide care and stimulation for children with disabilities.
>> The appointment is subject to satisfactory clearance from Disclosure Scotland and the provision of Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary and where they are available. It is a criminal offence for anyone who is on the Disqualified from working with Children list or disqualified from working with vulnerable adults or the elderly to apply for or continue to working in this position.
Job Purpose
>> To be a member of a team involved in the provision of respite programmes for children with disabilities at the DIY Club.
>> To do so through working directly with children and through liaison with staff team and parents.
Main Tasks
- To ensure that a safe and stimulating experience is provided for children attending the DIY Club
- To work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and develop a plan of appropriate activities
- To deliver the programmes to children attending the Club
