Our client is a full service market & social research agency. They conduct mainly quantitative, survey-based research on behalf of a variety of clients, particularly in the public sector, housing, and financial sector, as well as some political opinion polling.
This new role in the company has developed to address continued growth and to acknowledge the importance of a specialist statistical function.
The role encompasses:
• Running accurate tables to specification.
• Conducting further statistical tests as appropriate.
• Assisting with the preparation of surveys, with particular reference to the underlying coding and settings.
• Assisting and adhering to quality control systems.
• Assisting with sampling.
• Involvement in preparing reports/ presentations with the Research Directors.
Skills and Requirements:
Personal
• Positive and friendly personality that works well within the sensitivities of a small team environment
• Genuine commitment to quality, translating this to accurate research information for our clients
• An ability to handle pressure and work quickly and calmly to meet deadlines
• An excellent eye for detail, especially when looking at figures
• Highly confident using IT / computer systems
• Ability to prioritise workload and communicate this effectively
Skills & Experience
Essential:
• Demonstrable track record of producing high quality, accurate data tables, using SPSS or similar.
• Excellent MS office based skills – Excel, Word, Access & Outlook are essential
Desirable:
• Knowledge of querying in SQL or SQL reporting
• SPSS scripting
• A relevant numerate / statistical degree
• An understanding of the market research process
• Market research agency experience
• Knowledge of report writing and the need for accuracy
Time Scale
We hope to recruit a suitable person as soon as possible.
Salary
£20,000 to £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)
