An exciting DBA opportunity has arisen with our client, a business critical ISP that specialise in managed hosting for a varied range of customers. You will be part of a team responsible for the day to day administration and support of their clients’ infrastructures.
This is a proactive role and will be involved in the migration of some existing services onto MYSQL/SQL Server. Responsible for planning and carrying out work within a team environment and capable of excellent communication at all levels.
To be of interest you will have experience with all areas of MySQL database administration on a medium to Enterprise scale (MySQL 3, 4, 5) and (SQL 2003, 2005, 2008). Knowledge and expertise of logical and physical database design, query optimization tools, query plan analysis and techniques for finding inefficient queries are essential. You will be experienced in load balancer configuration settings for databases, patching and requirements gathering.
Knowledge of Linux, Unix and Apache administration skills including performance tuning are desirable
