Job Position:Design Engineer up to Principal Level (Engine Components)
Reporting To:Design Manager
Job Status:Permanent Staff
Qualifications:First Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
Experience:
Candidates are likely to be "well rounded" individuals who must have a sound
grasp of engineering fundamentals and must have the personal drive to "make things happen" in a fast moving highly demanding environment.
Significant Engine system/component design experience.
New product experience (concept to launch), writing, developing and validating engineering specifications.
Experience of major engine systems: major structural castings, lubrication system, cooling, rotating components or aftertreatment design.
3D CAD system operation (NX preferable), not all positions will require CAD operation.
Self starting and ability to make things happen.
Responsibilities:
Working in the Design Department of a leading worldwide manufacturer of Medium Duty Diesel Engines.
Joining a small team of highly motivated engineers in a fast moving environment with significant scope for career development, the applicant will be expected to take responsibility for:
Engine system/component ownership in a multi project environment including possible leadership of small teams of less experienced engineers.
Design for assembly and manufacture in a commercially focused environment.
Supplier liaison and selection from a global base.
Preparation and presentation of all formal Design documentation including; Specification, FMEA, Change Documentation, Drawings & Sign Off reports.
Basic Hours:
39hrs basic working week 08:00 to 17:00 (13:00 on Fridays).
Salary:
From
£25k-£32k (Engineer)
£32k to £38k (Senior)
£40k+ (Principal) - dependent on experience and qualifications.
