The Role
As Design Manager you will be the technical point of contact on electrical & mechanical marine system projects. As well as mentoring and developing staff, you will have full budget control of projects within the marine sector worth up to approximately £3 million. You will get involved in managing design tasks such as preparing cable schedules, internal and external communication systems installation design and main and emergency power and lighting distribution systems design. You would also be responsible for managing design meetings.
The ideal candidate will
"Have extensive experience working with marine electrical systems including instrumentation and controls, pipe work and HVAC systems
"Be educated to at least HNC level in an Electrical discipline
"Have knowledge of all stages of design processes from conception to production
"Have a working knowledge of classification requirements and be familiar with SOLAS and MARPOL
"Be a proven manager with good organisational, analytical and motivational skills
