They are seeking a Design Team Manager to oversee the day-2-day management of up to 40 staff ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Design team, making sure that succession plans are in place and that recruitment, training and development is completed.
Responsibilities will include managing all design activity in the South East Region amounting to approximately 3,500 schemes per year (Project values range from £5k to £500k) and managing the Design Team workload, approves and authorises overtime to effectively meet the demands of customers.
To be considered, demonstrable programme management experience and familiar with large volumes of activity. You will have previous experience operating inside a Regulatory environment where performance is judged upon absolute delivery, safety and compliance to Regulatory rules and standards.
Therefore if you are an experienced manager with a proven track record of managing technical staff (inc. design staff) in an electrical, mechanical or civil engineering environment and are able to demonstrate extensive knowledge in a fast-moving, competitive major project commercial environment then we would like to talk to you.
The role is to be based in either West Sussex or Kent but you would be expected to travel across the South East Region for customer visits, design reviews, team briefings, management reviews with requirement to travel to London and Eastern regions on occasions.
