DEVELOPMENT CHEF
Location: South East
Salary and Benefits: £25,000 - £30,000
THE COMPANY:
My Client is a well established and successful food manufacturer who supply to the wholesale and retail multiples. With more than 250 employees and a turnover in excess of £20 million they supply multi component chilled convenience products on both a branded and own label basis. There is now an excellent opportunity for a Development Chef to join their development department.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
*An extensive development back ground working within a food manufacturing environment specialising in chilled ready meals.
*Experience liaising with multiple internal departments when following products through to launch
*Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness
*Ability to demonstrate creativity when delivering innovative product solutions
*Experience working face to face in a development capacity with one or more of the major retail multiples
*Excellent project management skills
*Excellent presentation skills
*Strong IT skills
*Passionate about food and innovation
* Full UK Driving Licence
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
*To develop initial briefs into marketable concepts targeted towards the customer's needs
*To ensure all aspects of critical path are completed both on time and to budget
*To work to reduce costs by sourcing new ingredients where appropriate
*To drive standards forward by identifying margins for improvement
*To keep up to date with key industry/consumer trends
*To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the customer through regular contact
