The Role: Development Engineer - Electronics
* You will mainly focus on the development of camera, monitor and digital recording systems with a strong bias toward electronic engineering.
* You will be required to provide lead product design capability and assist the Product Development Manager in new product design & development.
* Predominantly working at PCB design level, utilizing cutting edge technologies and engineering methods.
* You will also be required to support the application team in the test and development of current products adapted to support the application specific requirements of customers and markets.
* This is a supplier-facing role, working with multiple suppliers and manufacturers in both high and low cost countries, overcoming language barriers.
Skills / Experience / Qualifications: Development Engineer - Electronics
* Degree in Electronics - product development or similar
* Minimum 3 years practical experience with electronics and mechanical product development.
* Extensive knowledge of camera, optics, LCD's and digital recording technologies with a good fundamental knowledge of the associated mechanical engineering principles.
* Analogue and digital circuit design and development,
* Digital communication protocol e.G. 12C, SPI, RS232 ete
* Optical knowledge and image processing and recognition using CCD, CMOS and realted technologies.
* Computer application skills:
(A) Microsoft Outlook, Excel, & Word
(B) ECAD & PCB development SW
(C) Electronic circuit simulation programs
* Experience of the Automotive Market
** To be based at the North Kent HQ but may require frequent travel throughout Europe and the Far East.
