Director of Waste - (Consultancy)
Location: London
Salary: £65-75k + Car + Bonus + Pension
THE COMPANY
* A top ten consultancy with a worldwide presence is looking to bring on board a Director of Waste based in London.
* The environmental division of the business has achieved year on year growth of 10% and is looking to increase on this respectively across the UK.
* The business covers a number of sub-disciplines including waste management, landscape architecture, sustainability, ecology and geosciences
* As Director of Waste, you will be responsible for working closely with all 32 local authorities, Local Government and Industry to identify and instigate opportunities to enhance value for money for waste infrastructure across England.
* Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, you will be involved in developing business plans, supporting Local Authority project leaders, planning and project managing the programmes, mitigating associated risks and procuring external advisors as required
THE ROLE
* You will be required to manage a multi billion pound portfolio of large environmental waste management projects.
* Responsible for two hundred consultants specialising in environmental and flooding protocols.
* Developing and maintaining long term relationships with key clients
* You will continue to provide a springboard and customer base to develop new related products and services.
* Reporting to the Director of infrastructure, this role requires a strong track record in:
*Business development and managing client relations
*Technical and project direction
*Team leadership and staff management
* Applicants will have waste management experience in, ideally, both the Public and Private Sectors.
* Consultancy experience will be beneficial.
* You will need to work with other product group staff and members of the Sector Development team, guiding, influencing and partnering with them to penetrate potential growth in the sectors in line with the company overall strategy.
KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* As a senior figure with waste industry experience, you will be able to demonstrate expertise in the development of waste treatment solutions and a solid understanding of the Private and Commercial issues within the Waste sector.
* A pragmatic and strategic thinker, Applicants will have experience of infrastructure procurement predominantly as a procurer to spearhead the delivery of work.
* As a proven influencer you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and previous achievements through collaborative working and engagement with key stakeholders within the public sector
