My client is a media business with an excellent established name in the North of England with an enviable client portfolio. Due to an increasing interest from their existing clients and interest at pitching stage, they are eager to invest in an extension of their Data division to include an Econometrics specialist with a view to growing and developing an additional revenue stream and with it a wider team. You should already have a solid background in Econometric Modelling ideally within a media/ marketing/ research agency but client side candidates will also be considered as long as they fully understand the purpose of modelling within the marketing mix.
The role will entail going out to new and existing clients and marketing the benefits of using Econometric Modelling as a tool in the marketing process and with this you must have the ability to put this information into layman's terms for marketing directors and brand managers. Since there are already a number of data specialists within the business the onus must be on your ability to communicate with the client and manage expectations in the delivery of the project. This is a great chance for someone with a proven track record within this area to set up, grow and progress a new division with full backing of the wider business and opportunities for projects already on the horizon. You will be working as part of a wider team with support of a team of analysts but this will be your baby.
The role is a hands on role and will require involvement in all aspects of econometric project design and set up from convincing clients as to the efficacy of the technique through to managing the data collection, the modelling work and the presentation of findings and recommendations. A strong econometric background and excellent client facing skills are therefore essential.
