A great opportunity for an electrical designer who has marine electrical knowledge with a ship building background to work in one of the UK's leading ship yards.
We have a vacancy at a Portsmouth Shipbuilding Facility for an Electrical Designer.
Job Specification:
Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out, as part of a team, tasks associated with the concept and detailed design of electrical systems on Naval vessels and any other Shipbuilding projects undertaken in the future,
- Other duties will include analysis, definition and preparation of technical specifications for:
Power generation and distribution systems, power conversion machinery,platform management systems, lighting systems, detection systems, lightning protection, degaussing systems, flight deck and hangar electrical services and cathodic protection.
The successful candidate will:
- Ideally be educated to degree or equivalent or HND standard and have achieved, or be applying for membership of IEE,
- Be able to communicate effectively as part of a multi disciplined team,
- Be able to demonstrate good presentation skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
