Electrical Engineer (Control Systems) - AutoCAD
Totton, Southampton
£30,000 - £35,000 DOE Plus Profit Related Bonus, Paid Overtime, 25 Days' Holiday

Our client uses the latest technology in industrial automation, to provide robotic welding, handling and pick and place solutions to improve productivity and quality for their customers. An opportunity has now arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join their team.

As an Electrical Engineer you will have full electrical design, software design and commissioning responsibilities for robot automation projects. This is a key, challenging role that offers considerable variety, responsibility, job satisfaction and career progression.

Your remit will include electrical controls design responsibility throughout the project lifecycle from concept design to installation. Specifically, your duties will include:

- Detailing of electrical controls designs and operator interfaces using AutoCAD Electrical
- Producing electrical wiring schematics, control panel layouts, pneumatic schematics and BOMs
- Component selection and procurement
- PLC software design and programming for all major PLC systems including Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Siemens
- HMI and robot programming
- Commissioning and on-site installation
- Responsibility for risk assessments, standards and documentation
- Responsibility for providing technical guidance to the electrical build team

To be considered for this position you must have solid control system design experience from conception through to detailing. You must also hold a degree in a relevant subject or an HND (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Your experience should include the majority of the following: Safety Circuit Design, CE & EMC practices, PLC Control Systems - Rack Mounted and Distributed I/O Systems, Field bus Systems (Profibus & Device Net), AC & DC Motor Control (Inverters & Servo Drives), Digital & Analogue Sensor Technologies & Connectivity, HMI Connectivity and PLC Software Design.

As the Electrical Engineer you should also be a multi-skilled, self motivated and ambitious engineer who is able to communicate at all levels. You must also be an excellent team player with good IT skills, including MS Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, RS Logix, E-Designer and GX Developer.

This position is based at the company's manufacturing site in Totton with commissioning and installation at customer sites throughout the UK and Eire as projects dictate.
