My client is a small company, founded in 1997, specialising in the design and manufacture of digital surveillance products for world-wide niche security markets.
The Production Manager will be responsible for:
Supervision and training of production staff (currently 2 assemblers, 2 technicians)
Preparation of production schedules to meet sales forecasts
Liaison with PCB assembly sub-contractor
Material control in production and at sub-contractor
Production engineering
Recruitment
Quality
The company invests heavily in R&D, and it is expected that the number of different products will increase during 2010/2011, and that production volumes will increase.
The post of Production Manager is a senior position and will report to the Managing Director.However, we are a small company, and it is a "hands-on" job, covering a wide range of responsibilities.Ability to help with assembly tasks or assisting in the test and service section is essential.
A good candidate would preferably have a technical degree or HNC, but certainly would have a good knowledge of electronic and mechanical engineering.Team leader or man-management experience in a small/medium sized electronics company production environment is essential, together with good communication and motivational skills.The company provides a relaxed and pleasant working environment and a salary will be paid commensurate with qualifications, experience and ability; £36,000-£44,000 is anticipated.
