The Role
Responsible for underwriting life, income protection and critical illness policies. Underwriting both new and existing business, mostly existing. To initially determine the medical underwriting requirements for Life, Income Protection and Critical Illness applications, for both individual policies and Group schemes, based on any disclosures and/or our non medical limits. To assess Life, Income Protection and Critical Illness applications, for both individual policies and Group schemes, as authority limits permit, using the medical evidence obtained. Individual underwriting authority will depend on candidate's relevant technical underwriting experience and can increase overtime with the relevant training
The Person
You must have considerably experience of underwriting with Employee Benefits (Life, Income Protection and/or Critical Illness), reassurer recognised authority limits would be advantageous, also have to have a strong mathematical disposition and be highly numerate. It's most likely you've worked at a Life Insurance or Reinsurer within underwriting.
