Our client, Brunton Shaw, a world leading produce of engineering wire rope are seeking a high calibre engineers for their Worksop site.
Within the Technical Function you will focus on Customer Support. This will put you in direct contact with many elements of the business, focusing on quality control, product testing, accreditation approval, new product development and proactive customer development with the sales and business development team.
Within the Operational Function you will focus on Continuous Improvement. This will put you in direct contact with the remaining elements of the business, focusing on production, dispatch, process flow, quality control and project engineering.
Within both areas you will be a driving force for change, facilitated by the lean trained Production Manager and tools such as 5S and SMED will be the corner stone of the majority of projects you will work on. Some measures are already in place for monitoring performance, however you will be able to greatly enhance these areas and work to improve the OEE of the plant by coming up with innovative solutions to engineering problems.
While this is a role that will develop you greatly, in terms of business and personal experience, you will be expected to really drive improvements and change within the business ensuring that your future and that of Brunton Shaw's is bright.
You will be a high calibre graduate who is ideally looking for their second job on leaving University, however relevant industrial placement experience will be considered. With previous experience in a manufacturing industry, you will enjoy being target driven and used to working under pressure. A complex traditional heavy engineering environment in which to work, this is a challenging opportunity for someone wanting to make a real impact in a small to medium enterprise where there efforts will be rewarded with a strong developmental career path. You will be degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering or manufacturing related discipline and be ready to make the next step into a truly career building role.
Brunton Shaw manufactures a wide range of standard and special wire ropes at their factory in Worksop, South Yorkshire. Brunton Shaw works in partnership with its customers, delivering quality assured, high performance products, backed by a commitment to service and continuous improvement. Applications to their products are, Cranes, Elevators, Mining & Quarrying and Oil & Gas Field Exploration. Owing to recent successes and a drive to ensure the future of the business they are actively seeking high calibre graduate engineers within their Technical and Operational Function.
