This internationally renowned specialist in automated handling systems is urgently seeking an Engineering Duty Manager to take up a project critical role. Located at a major UK Airport in the south, this position will operate on a 4 on 4 off shift rotation (days only).
As Engineering Manager, your role will focus on the daily management of the shift engineering team. This will cover among other duties,
•Management of planned and unplanned maintenance activities
•Daily assessment of system performance
•Development and implementation of relevant targeted projects
•Measurement and verification of team performance against specified targets
•Daily liaison with site based counterparts from external organisations
•Close adherence to specified HSE procedure
•Active input to value management programmes and other business critical workshops
You will also be directly responsible for a range of daily and periodical reports such as daily handover, shift availability, major downtime, accident reports and a log of all planned maintenance.
The successful candidate MUST have:
•Previous experience in an Engineering Maintenance Management position, dealing with automated material or goods handling systems
•Exposure to and good knowledge of LEAN/Six Sigma management processes
•A proven focus on continuous improvement
•Experience in an environment dealing with a variety of internal and external customers
•Technical knowledge of PLC systems
•Previous experience in roles responsible for relevant Cost and Resource Management
