One of the Middle East's leading construction and engineering companies are looking for an Engineering Manager for their Steel Fabrication Division.
Reporting directly into the General Manager of this division the selected candidate will be responsible for:
Co-ordinating and supervising the work of the design team including structural engineers and X-steel detailers.
Execution of structural design of steel structures in accordance with project requirements and schedules.
Responsible for technically safe and economical structural design.
Representing the company in site meetings with consultants and clients.
Participate in development of various steel member connection scheme together with the construction team to suit specific project constraints.
Provide value engineering to achieve best value and fit for purpose design.
Provide design solution for design and build projects at tender stage.
Provide temporary stability design for steelwork erection according to established method statement of the construction team.
Issue of fabrication drawings to fabrication workshop. Check and ensure the fabrications are performed according to the design.
To be considered for this position you need to match the following requirements:
- A graduate in civil/structural engineering from a reputed university.
- Professionally qualified structural engineer (i.e MIStructE from the United Kingdom)
- Minimum years experience in design of concrete and steel structural
- Good knowledge of software for structural analysis
- Have work experience in structural engineering design consultants
The ideal candidate will potentially be working as an Associate or even a Senior Structural Engineer for a major structural design consultant firm.
