SSE Hornsea, part of the Scottish and Southern Energy group, owns and operates the largest onshore gas storage facility at Atwick in East Yorkshire.The existing operational facility at Atwick comprises nine caverns almost 2,000 metres underground, and is used by gas suppliers and traders to store gas and balance their supply and demand.We are currently commissioning a second gas storage site nearby at Aldborough, and have plans to extend both sites in order to maintain their presence at the forefront of the gas industry.
As a member of the engineering team, you will carry out planning of all engineering activities (using CMMS) in conjunction with engineers across multiple disciplines.You will be responsible for delivering all weekly and shutdown plans through your multi-disciplined team of technicians and term contractors ensuring these plans are achieved in line with our key goals of safety, environment, availability, efficiency and flexibility.This post also involves acting as Appointed (Lifting) Person for an operational site.
The successful candidate will:
- Be time-served and educated to a minimum of ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Have experience of managing a team, including contractors
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills
- Be able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Be detail orientated
- Have experience using a computerised maintenance management systems, ideally Maximo 6
- Have a good working knowledge of MS Project
- Have good time management skills
