Our client based in Ayrshire has an immediate requirement for an experienced Production Engineer to oversee all tooling and facilities required to produce and monitor progress of all production build.
Allicants must have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar and have good engineering experience and knowledge. Also a knowledge of work in the transport sector (Aircarft , Marine or Rail)would be an advantage
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Production Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the Manufacturing Operations have the correct paperwork, the correct times and detail for the work scope and that they have all the necessary tools and equipment to expedite the job productively and profitably.
Key Duties will include:
* Provide labour estimates for tendering, costing and pricing purposes
* Develop and build database of task times to reduce workload and speed up the time taken when tendering
* Provide task data to the workshop in a timely concise manner
* Ensure the workshop have all the correct tools and equipment necessary to perform the job as efficiently as possible
* Establish overall build times and production of programmes for present and future work
* Monitor activity levels, progress, completion status and other information as required to accurately manage production activities
* Cost down initiatives of any description not limited to operational improvements
* Liaise with all internal functional departments as well as external customers, sub-contractors and suppliers in a professional manner
