Airbus UK Centre of Excellence Wing - Filton
The role advertised is based at the Airbus UK Centre of Excellence in Filton, near Bristol. The site is responsible for engineering research,
technology and wing design, including aircraft landing gear and fuel systems. The manufacture and sub-assembly of systems and components for
the Airbus aircraft wings also takes place at Filton, as well as A400M wing final assembly and equipping.

Description of the job
The Wing CoE Engineering Team for the A350, is tasked with developing the detailed design for the A350 Wing, including structure and systems installation, from concept through Data for Manufacture to Certification. This includes the development of the various A350 variants – A350-900, A350-1000, A350-800.
The role of an Engineering Team Leader is to lead a multi-functional team in order to deliver engineering data to agreed time scales, cost and quality within the scope of the fully integrated A350 wing. Significant amounts of work on A350 are placed off-site within Risk Sharing Partners and Engineering Offload Suppliers and the candidate will need to be able to manage supplier(s) to ensure successful completion of tasks to Airbus time cost & quality criteria.
Tasks
This entails the following:
Lead, plan and project manage tasks from initial concept through to successful completion and delivery to time, cost and quality
Provide Technical Leadership to ensure deliverables meet technical requirements
Develop the Engineering plans and resource requirements including skill mix to deliver Engineering objective whilst supporting development needs
Participate actively in the integration and optimisation of the component across Engineering procurement and manufacture
Support Improvement Projects and so drive cost savings.
Your skills
The successful candidate should have a sound and broad Engineering background preferably in a structural environment
· Ideally candidates will have a degree or HND/HNC in a relevant Engineering field and a minimum of 3 working years experience.
· Project management and leadership skills ideally with track record for delivering Engineering and/or improvement programmes
· Working knowledge of detailed Engineering processes
· Experience in an Operational Engineering team
· Experience managing engineering projects with external interfaces
English :Negotiation level
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence people at all levels within the Organisation
· Dynamic and enthusiastic individual with ability to motivate, a passion for identification of improvement opportunities and the drive to successfully implement change
