This market leading consultancy have an excellent opportunity for an experienced ecologist to join their team based near Sheffield. Joining the committed and professional ecology team you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including highways, residential and commercial developments, across the North of England.
Candidates for this role are anticipated to hold a relevant academic background with a degree in Ecology / similar, supported by professional membership of IEEM and protected species licences (Bats of particular interest). It is also anticipated that candidates hold a full clean UK driving licence and CEnv status or working towards. The successful candidate for this role will have a demonstrable good understanding of a variety of ecological assessments and surveys, EcIA and a strong background in report writing for various EIA projects. Candidates are also anticipated to hold experience in project management client facing and staff mentoring, as you will be responsible for managing a team of staff in this role. Applications are sought from candidates with a genuine interest in the ecology consultancy, with an ambitious and self motivated character.
Duties Include: - Staff management and mentoring, you will be responsible for a small team of ecologists - Project management, including management of budgets, timescales - Liaising with clients and other stakeholders - Assisting on business development and tendering activities - Planning and undertaking ecological field surveys - Report writing - Designing and implementing mitigation strategies - Preparing licence applications
