THE COMPANY:
. One of the countries most well known blue chip food manufacturers producing some of the UK best loved grocery products, both own brand and for an extensive variety of retailers.
. Following a period of expansion the site is looking to take on an excellent factory manager with the tenacity to face the challenges that rapid growth can bring.
. This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive business that believes in a culture of change and continuous improvement. Ideally this candidate will grow within the business and within the next five years will reach the highest levels of senior management.
ESSENTIAL:
. The role requires at least 3 years Production or Factory Management experience in a fast paced food manufacturing environment.
. An excellent record of exceeding all set KPI's in demanding manufacturing environments.
. Tenacity and a 'can do' attitude, this is a high pressure factory.
. A Basic Food Hygiene certificate or higher
. Excellent Leadership and Motivation Skills
. Degree educated or equivalent.
. Experience of working on production for the major multiples
. HACCP and GMP trained to at least a basic standard
. The successful applicant can commute to the site and the surrounding area.
. Flexibility to support the business needs.
. Health and Safety awareness and proactive understanding of legislation
DESIRABLE:
. Food production/technology degree.
. CI/Lean qualifications or work related skills.
. NEBOSH or IOSH.
THE ROLE:
. Reporting directly to the Site Manager you will be directly responsible for the performance of your factory through the delivery of predefined KPI's.
. Responsible for up to 6 direct reports and 300 indirect reports.
. You will personally set the standards required for your team and will closely monitor performance.
. You will drive your shift to achieve and exceed targets, working in a culture that promotes and encourages lean thinking and continuous improvement at all times
. You will create and sustain a highly-motivated team with a developing set of skills and continuous improvement techniques.
. Actively work to encourage and promote a positive and productive working environment encompassing not only your own team but all teams within the business.
. Succession planning is key to the role as you develop your staff as well as driving your own career ambitions.
