Field Service Engineer - Multiskilled (Manufacturing Machinery)

As an international company, our client designs and manufactures specialised packaging machines for filling and capping liquid products. An opportunity has now arisen for a multiskilled Field Service Engineer to join their team.
In this role you will be responsible for servicing the company's filling and capping machinery at client sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
As a Field Service Engineer your duties will include:
- On site repairs to machine breakdowns
- Installation and commissioning of new, second hand machines and complete lines
- Tooling installation and set-up
- PLC and PC program modification
- Inspecting and upgrading used machines
This role will also involve providing training to customers, performing filling product trials and providing technical advice. You will also assist with office work - filling in reports, recommending spare parts and preparing on-site work and customer advice.
To be considered for this position you must:
- Have experience of servicing manufacturing machinery
- Have experience of operating in a field-based, multi-site engineering role
- Have an HND (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Be multi-skilled across electrical, electronic, software and mechanical engineering
As a Field Service Engineer you should also have a good level of computer literacy, the ability to deal with customers and strong interpersonal skills. You must also be able to work under pressure and enjoy being involved in a variety of tasks.
You must also live within commuting distance of Abingdon (or be willing to relocate) and have a full driving licence.
Any filling or capping machinery engineering experience would be a distinct advantage to your application.
