Ashton
A new post has been created by Islington Council at its Ashton-based benefits processing unit which houses 35 of Islington’s Revenues and Benefits Service permanent employees.
The post reports directly to the Head of Processing, Safeguarding and Security. The service is looking for someone to manage claims processing and also to be responsible for the management of the Ashton processing site as a whole. You will be expected to demonstrate experience of managing staff in a housing benefits claim processing environment, and show innovation in approach to improving quality of service.
Experience of dealing with issues related to premises management and budget management are also required. We are looking for someone who is confident, has good initiative, excellent all round communications skills and the ability to lead and inspire others to achieve their full potential.
You will be expected to provide high quality management support to four Ashton site based processing team managers, and to work in partnership with the London based processing manager.
You should also have a thorough knowledge of housing benefit law and the ability to apply this knowledge correctly.
