A challenging new role as Finance Director has arisen within an innovative and forward thinking business based in Buckinghamshire.
- Propose and jointly own objectives, strategies and long term plans in order to meet the strategic and financial objectives of the business.
- Provide, through the finance function, financial information for the business (e.g. performance variance analysis, revenue, cost, cash, stock, debtors and capital requirement projections), understand the implications and, working with the management team ensure that the necessary actions are taken to manage them including agreement of back on track corrective action.
- Minimise overhead spend and understand the benefits and alternatives within this.
- Monitor and manage the financial performance of the business, and financial risks.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of forecasting and the quality of risk identification and mitigation.
- Working with others as appropriate, help identify and manage business acquisitions, collaborations and other commercial opportunities, major capital expenditure and divestments, including evaluation of prospects, due diligence, deal structure and negotiation, integration and hindsight assessment.
- Ensuring that the business gets maximum commercial and financial benefit out of IP and that all deals involving it are commercially sound.
- Work with the business team to ensure the effective management of technical projects and products (e.g. R&D spending, product profitability reviews, product life cycle and pricing options, driving down project costs, post new product introductions comparisons with the original plan.)
- To understand customer profitability and ensure that appropriate resulting actions are taken.
- Monitor the achievement of average unit price and standard cost and working with the management team take corrective action where appropriate.
- To review in advance all major contracts that the company enters into to ensure their commercial viability and be aware of all existing contracts and monitor their progress.
A proven leader within finance as well as a change manager, who is focused on driving this organisation forward globally. You will be a qualified accountant from either ACA / CIMA or ACCA and most probably will be acting as a finance director currently. There is some worldwide travel required so flexibility is key.
