An opportunity has arisen to join this expanding organisation as an Assistant Accountant. Working within an established team, reporting into the Assistant Financial Controller and Financial Controller.
Our client is looking for someone who will grow into the role, the key skill requirements are stat accounts preparation and good reconciliation skills. The role is progressive so the person can grow into a management accounts role, should a vacancy arise. In the short term they will be completing adhoc analysis/project work and undertaking the following tasks:
Ensure the accurate preparation of a management pack for the relevant group company to specified deadlines.
Ensure that future development of operating system reports contain relevant financial controls.
Contribute to the smooth running of the Plc accounts section to ensure that all relevant information has been posted accurately on a timely basis to operating system and the accounting system.
To assist in department projects.
Key Accountabilities
Review posting of expenses and invoices
Review of the business stats
Preparation of daily bank reconciliations.
Reconciliation of system cash movements to bank account cash movements.
Reconciliation of debtors and creditors
Preparation of statutory accounts
Adhoc projects
Preparation of management accounts
Analysis work
Experience Knowledge Skills Required
Good working knowledge of Excel
Computer and keyboard skills
Self motivated
Ability to concentrate in an open office environment
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Good accuracy skills
Good organisational skills
Effective Time management
Effective team participation and assistance skills
Good Communication skills at all levels and with non financially minded people.
Suitable applicants will need to be ACA studiers and have a good understanding of accounting standards and statutory accounts production.
Preference would be ACA studier failing that ACCA studiers with the below experience will be considered.
Applicants must have in depth knowledge of preparing Limited company stat accounts and complex reconciliation work – not just the standard bank recs. Ideally being able to perform a three way reconciliation, from various operating systems.
There is opportunity for the role to develop or move into a more Management Accounts focused role in the future if required.
