The Financial Analyst will forecast, understand and analyse customer cash collections and manage and support the expense analyst, ensuring the EDC Management Team is in control of its operating expenditure. The Financial Analyst will provide decision support to Operational Management on operational expenditure and scope, review and challenge project assumptions that will impact customer cash collections and Opex.

• Produce and develop customer cash forecasting on weekly basis for treasury submission explaining any material variances and support any customer cash initiatives.
• Create 3 year plan forecast for customer cash for business requirements and explain any variances.
• Business finance contact for the operational expenditure, providing support and challenge from both a commercial and financial perspective to ensure resources are optimised, projects are understood and drive increased value.
• Monthly financial reporting and variance analysis for Debt expenditure - working with the Expense analyst and Operations Management to fully understand cost drivers and to develop their understanding of the financials.
• Development of quarterly debt opex forecasts with clear understanding of cost drivers and causal tracks - working closely with Operational Manager to gain buy-in and ownership of their respective budgets.

The Financial Analyst will be managing one member of staff (part-qualified analyst) and you will coach, mentor and guide this team member.

The successful candidate must possess of the following skills and experience. This must be clearly stated on your CV.

• A qualified accountant with a globally recognised accountancy body (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with experience of working in real commercial finance roles within a large business.
• Demonstrated an abundant amount of drive and results focus to deliver and exceed targets; as well as possessing continual successes throughout your corporate career (evidence of promotions within your organisation).
• Proven successes of developing insightful reporting and analysis to use for major corporate decision making within a complex multi-site large business.
• Proven experience of building outstanding business relationships across business units within operational teams; demonstrating the ability to really influence decisions and really drive change through the company.
• Demonstrated adding real commercial value to a business (more commercial input than monthly reporting and accounting).
• Proven success of coaching, mentoring and managing staff in a complex people business.
