This is a key commercial Financial Analyst (Decision Support) role within the British Gas Finance & MI team, which combines reporting, planning and forecasting requirements with the need to acquire a real understanding of the business drivers.
Financial Analyst (Decision Support) ACA, CIMA, ACCA - The Vacancy:- Providing financial advice and support for business change initiatives from large scale investment to small tactical changes.
- Develop strong relationships with business teams by providing appropriate support and acting as single point of contact for finance queries. Feedback from the teams will be a key measure of success.
- Establishing the financial case, working with the business through delivery and performance monitoring.
- Present analysis, recommendations and business cases to the senior management team in a clear and unbiased manner.
- Managing adherence to the controls and governance of the business case process.
- Working alongside the financial planning teams to ensure project financials are reflected correctly within the forecast.
- Providing ad-hoc support to the other operations finance teams, including opex / people planning, cash and debt management.
Financial Analyst (Decision Support) ACA, CIMA, ACCA - The Person: The successful candidate must possess all the following experience. This must be clearly displayed through achievements on your CV:- Demonstrated track record of financial analysis, decision support and financial reporting within large blue chip businesses.
- Proven monthly financial reporting experience; as well as strength in commercial financial issues (challenging assumptions from commercial / operational managers) to assist on delivering on company targets.
- The successful candidate must at least be educated to a passed finalist or newly qualified accountant level (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
- Demonstrate a real passion for finance; robustness of character to challenge managers; ability to lead change; and a relentless drive to succeed and to deliver better than expected results.
- A proven communicator who is able to educate and advise senior non-finance staff. Proven ability to engage a broad audience with change plans and presentations.
