The risk advisory team advises leading financial services organisations on a wide variety of risk and capital management issues. These range from regulatory requirements such as Basel II and Solvency II, to strategic risk propositions such as defining and setting risk appetite and embedding risk management through the organisation.
We have a limited number of roles available in our rapidly growing practice at Consultant Grade. The people we are looking for will have:
- Strong intellectual and technical risk skills in the areas of market, credit and liquidity risk
- A good understanding of the role of risk management in helping an organisation achieves its business goals.
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills to support working with colleagues and clients.
Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks and projects. They would also need to have the capacity to take on greater responsibilities as they develop within the firm. They should be of an inquisitive mindset and interested in constantly updating and developing their professional and technical skills.
A quantitative background is suitable for these roles but this does not preclude strong candidates with experience in the qualitative aspects of applying risk management skills to business issues.

RequirementsBSc or MSc preferably in a quantitative/economics/business discipline.Accountancy/finance qualification desirable.Sector experience An impressive track record in
Solvency II, Capital Management, credit, market, operational or business risk management,with an interest in designing, building, implementing or validating risk based capital solutions within a Financial services environment.Previous consulting experience desirable but not essential.Commercial and/or technical expertise requiredInterests and/or strengths in one or more of the following areas are essential:Risk strategy development including risk appetite formulationIntegration of risk and value management.Economic capital frameworks.Risk Modelling and analysis including stress testing.Building and implementing, validating risk and capital management frameworks.Systems, architecture and data requirements for risk management frameworksincluding proprietary software solutions.Technical risk solutions in credit, market, operational risk.
ResponsibilitiesProvide support to senior consultants on client delivery workProvide coaching and support for executives and associates within the team.Proactively engage with clients to build effective relationships during on-going assignments.Use commercial awareness to identify consulting opportunities in target accounts.Deliver agreed project outputs that exceed client expectations in terms of time,quality and costContribute towards the technical, industry and consulting capability of risk advisory
