Working for Her Majesty’s Courts Service, you’ll be part of the 80,000-strong Ministry of Justice. As such you’ll be contributing to their overall goals of strengthening democracy, protecting the public and reducing re-offending – in short, improving the criminal justice system.
Your particular contribution to justice in the UK will be to meet and interview defendants and to ensure we collect money owed to the courts. Diplomatic but firm, you’ll use various different sanctions to enforce court orders and collect outstanding fines. As well as gathering the necessary information for future enforcement, you’ll also advise and educate the individuals on priority and non-priority debts.
A determined and resolute individual, you’ll display a degree of sensitivity and offer excellent customer care at all times. Working largely by yourself, you’ll be familiar with MS Office. You’ll certainly need to be a confident individual with excellent negotiation skills and no small amount of tact.
