Our client is one of the UK’s largest energy supply companies. They are involved in everything from generation and transmission to the distribution and supply of electricity and gas to both residential and business customers.

Due to a recent internal promotion our client is looking to bring on a Forecasting Manager to join the Risk Management team in the Retail side of the business. This person will report into the Power Position Manager and will be directly responsible for Short Term Electricity Forecasting, both for the half hourly and non-half hourly portfoilio’s.This is a critical role where market costs are extremely volatile and therefore if the shape and volume is not forecast correctly the risk to the companies profit and loss could be significant.

This person will manage a team of analysts and will look to lead and drive improvements, develop new models, modify systems and changes to processes ultimately improving the accuracy of the data. The Forecasting Manager will liaise at Senior Management level and with key internal stakeholders such as, Hedging, Finance, IT and Sales, to discuss timing, accuracy and changes to data.

Candidates will have a background from energy supply/consultancy, carrying out a similar role in Power Forecasting. You may be looking for your next step up to manage a team and your forecasting accuracy will be second to none.
