The Forensics Technology Solutions(FTS) team within PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Advisory practice are looking for a Data Analytics Senior Associate to work with our rapidly growing department. The FTS team comprises of 50 technical specialists who capture, consolidate and interrogate massive volumes of structured (e.g. financial systems) and unstructured data (e.g. forensic images of laptops). We are at the forefront of providing cutting edge, data-driven expertise in support of complex litigation cases and business issues, allowing our clients and their counsel to make informed, strategic decisions. We have offices in London, Birmingham, Belfast and Leeds and are part of a global network of over 1500 forensic services professionals within the global PwC organisation.
The services which we support are wide ranging and include:
- dispute resolution;
- fraud and other financial investigations;
- anti-money laundering;
- construction claims;
- licensing examinations;
- insurance claim reviews.
RequirementsOur FTS team typically come from strong problem solving educational backgrounds such as Engineering or Computer Science and having completed coursework on topics with applications in the data space. As a substantial amount of our data analytics work is on accounting data, financial knowledge is also beneficial.
You will be required to demonstrate deep technical expertise in several of the following:
- Data mining and statistical analysis in tools such as SPSS, SAS or R
- Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft T-SQL query languages and associated technology (e.g. SSIS, SQLLDR)
- Data visualization tools such as Omniscope or Tableau
- Extraction and analysis of ERP data from a range of leading vendors such as Oracle, SAP and JD Edwards
- Reverse engineering or deep technical knowledge of ERP systems or other datasets
- Programming or scripting in C#/.NET/Perl/Python/PowerShell
ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Associate working within FTS, your primary role will be to manage a team of Analysts delivering the technical portions of complex structured data projects. You will report to Managers and Senior Managers to provide clear and concise details of progress and findings and also regularly interface with clients to determine requirements and provide them with progress updates.
Joining our team provides the opportunity to work on exciting projects in a variety of industries. Due to the nature of our projects, extensive travel opportunities often arise both within the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
You will have experience of working individually, or managing a team to:
- Write SQL code to aid data interrogation and investigations;
- Perform in-depth quantitative analysis and summarisation of complex transactional data;
- Consult with clients on business issues, often explaining complex technical concepts to non- technical people;
- Draft reports and presentations to explain our findings;
- Research new products, tools and techniques to assist with streamlining internal processes and methods of presenting results to clients.
