General Manager based in the East End of London required to head up and further develop a well established Freight Forwarding Company.
Ideal candidate would have a strong Commercial bias, with excellent people management skills, and be at home dealing with corporate clients as well as interacting with members of the public. Ability to expand and develop new and existing business against defined objectives essential.
The General Manager would be expected to be" hands on" and would be responsible for the smooth day to day management of approximately 16 staff engaged in administration ,clerical and warehouse duties located at two adjacent sites. Any successful candidate would be expected to fully standardise and integrate the working practices of both depots to achieve maximum working efficiency.
Reporting directly to the UK General Manager, located externally, the General Manager London would be expected to have a strong input into Budget formulation and Business Planning involving future development , both locally, nationally and internationally.
Ideally candidates would have at least 10 years experience in a relevant industry and currently working in a management role, and have marketing experience ,an understanding of Basic Management Accounting , be computer literate with a good understanding and use of excel and power point. A clean driving licence would be required as travel within the UK and also overseas would be required from time to time. Candidate should be educated to degree level .
