Game Engine Developer - Open Source, Virtual Collaboration. - Open Source, Virtual Collaboration:
My clients leading Innovation team based here in the UK require an experienced Software Development Engineer to join their team in Newport, South Wales. Technically, any of Java, C++, Visual.NET, Visual Basic, Visual C++ would be considered.
Assisting in developing innovative solutions and applications for Virtual Operations Environments using commercially available software packages, gaming engines and bespoke software packages for use within Virtual Collaborative Environments, using skills such as Java, .NET, Visual C++ or Visual Basic.
Key Responsibilities:
-Research and development of commercial software packages and gaming engines to develop applications for use in Virtual Collaborative Environments.
-Java, C++, Visual C++, Visual Basic, .NET. (any of)
-Develop bespoke software packages to enhance utility of Virtual Collaborative Environments.
-Maintain liaison with US based Project Video staff, PhD researchers and engineers.
-Maintain research records of Project VIDEO developments.
-Attend meetings and conferences as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
-Software development: Java, C++, Visual .NET, Visual Basic, Visual C/++ preferred.
-Systems Architecture knowledge advantageous.
-Sound knowledge of the development and application of commercial gaming engines.
-Background in working with Open Source Code environments, in particular commercially available Virtual Environments, such as OpenSim technologies, is required.
-Acknowledged ability to work in a small team and develop relationships with distributed colleagues from academia and industry.
