An opportunity has arisen for a GENERAL COUNSEL
The General Counsel will be part of the senior management team and will be expected to function as a key business partner. The GC will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic legal and business advice in the areas of corporate and regulatory compliance worldwide, corporate governance, domestic and international corporate transactions, M&A and corporate finance, complex litigation management, contracts of every type, and the evaluation, selection and monitoring of outside legal counsel in more than 60 countries.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·European or American qualified lawyer.
·8+ years experience with major international law firm and
·Extensive knowledge of the medical device, pharmaceutical and healthcare related industries.
·Evidence of extensive experience managing complex international mergers and acquisition and other corporate transactions and providing corporate governance advice.
·IPO experience and experience handling regulatory actions preferred.
·Significant US experience gained either in a US multi-national or through working in the US
·Strong international M&A experience, able to co-ordinate and supervise activity in more than 100 countries worldwide
·Proven track record in dealing with legal issues around compliance, IP and patent protection, contracts and significant commercial agreements.
·Extensive experience of working at board level
The successful candidate must have:
·The appetite to work in the entrepreneurial environment of a private equity backed business on an aggressive growth agenda.
·Ability to effectively leverage the use of outside counsel while controlling costs
·Ability to work effectively with governmental and other regulatory agencies (global and US) to protect the best interests of the company
